Vacation

May 18, 2009

We had  a great trip to Florida . Even with the early morning start Isaac traveled like a champion.  He was quite the daddy’s boy on the flight down which was great for me. I’m so use to flying alone with him it was nice to be able to sit back and read while Isaac slept soundly on Jason’s lap.  Isaac and Jason actually had all sorts of great bonding time on this trip. There is something about not being at home that allows you to slow down and take time to nap with your baby or play for longer on the floor.

We did lots of swimming. As you can see I was a stickler for sun protection. We’d packed the water toy my cousin had given us and used it constantly. It was great for floating down the lazy river with him and the sun shade was wonderful, as an added bonus it worked well for deflecting water from all the spray cannons and waterfalls around the pool.

As planned we went to Sea World (without the camera, whoops). Isaac was captivated by the Killer Whale show, but it was too hot so we didn’t stay long. We also did one day at Aquatica (Sea Worlds water park) this was a HUGE hit, although Isaac would have had just as much fun in the hotel pool.

In the end we couldn’t totally avoid the magic allure of Disney. We took Isaac to the Magic Kingdom for one day and it was way better than Sea World. It was probably just as hot, but there is way more AC in Disney so we were able to keep him comfortable. He was fascinated by ‘It’s a Small World’ and ‘The Haunted Mansion’. I also had to take him on Dumbo (for me) and we did a few other rides where he could sit on on of our laps. Again, his favorite was the slide at the play area near ‘Splash Mountain’, what can I say, he’s an easy kid to entertain.

So much fun! And I am sooooo jealous – since they are calling for 15-20 cm of snow here tomorrow. Glad you had fun and were able to chill and relax a bit!

Looks like such a fun trip! What was the sleeping arrangement – did Isaac just sleep in a pack n play in your room, or did you have a condo/suite? Or did he sleep in your bed?
